Finances
The price range is: 3200€ – 4100€ per semester. This covers the cost of accomodation, courses and retreat, as well as the general costs of the abbey for the duration of the programme.
For those who can’t afford this budget, we offer several alternatives for financing the year. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our application process is based on an application form and an interview with the team, to enable you to get to know the team, and us to know you!
The location
The discipleship school is located at Hautecombe Abbey, on the shores of Lake Bourget, surrounded by the mountains of Savoy.
For over 900 years, generations of religious have prayed at Hautecombe Abbey. Nestled beside a lake and between mountains, the beauty of its location invites worship and contemplation.
In 1992, the Chemin Neuf Community chose to establish an international centre of formation for young people aged 18-30, in order to equip them to build foundations for their Christian life.
Language
The formation is given in French – which implies that a certain level of language is necessary to follow the course and participate fully in the community life.
Generations of young people who have attended HDS from all over the world can testify that learning a new language can be a challenge, but also a source of great enrichment!
The language programme in Tigery, near Paris, offers a 3-month French language course.
